The meaning of life has become meaningless for a growing sector of society that chooses to commit suicide. In just five years, that serious self-harm has become the leading cause of violent death in Spain, ahead of traffic accidents, criminal acts and terrorism. In 2009, English 3650 died by suicide, of which nearly 5% were teenagers. Spain is already, after Finland and Belgium, the third country in western Europe with more suicides.
